Do you feel intimidated by the health club environment? Do you get burned out by the same old exercise routine? You no longer have to feel this way. Kristen Baumliér parodies the mainstream exercise tapes and offers anew perspective on the typical workout.

Her exercise routines focus on the relationship between food and exercise. She feels people see food as an object, the enemy. Issues of fat/thin seem to affect many women's self images, and she hopes to conquer the negative relationship with her exercise video.

A few years ago, Kristen wanted to create a gym with the idea in mind of changing the aesthetics of exercise. Alternative routes to the mainstream workout include bench pressing hay and a bike that actually did farm work.

Her first of three videos, Buns of Butter, is a 45 minute workout. In the video, Kristen will be in a a pink and orange striped tank top with pom pom balls at the bottom and black biker shorts. Her white aerobic shoes display her initials, KB, in orange and pink. The music will be quirky rock by individuals and band from the Bay Area in California, where Kristen last lived.

The Buns of Butter workout starts with a warm-up/stretch. Other exercises on the tape include curling 40 oz. beers, lifting ice cream barbells, jumping over ice cream step benches, and the butter butt workout, where butter weights are attached to a belt used for squats.

Kristen discovered PATV, the cable access channel - cable channel 2 in Iowa City, located in the back of the public library, when she relocated to Iowa City.

She hopes to have the show broadcast before the dinner hour on cable channel 2 and on other public access channels across the country. Her video will also be on the market and available for sale. Tune in for an alternative fitness workout.
