BUNS OF BUTTER
The Live Show - Coming Your Way in 2003!!
Buns of Butter is the only fitness workout big on ice cream, donuts, and theme songs. Fitness Guru, Kristen Baumliér, and the Buns of Butter dancers show you how to get fit with high-caloric food in the Buns of Butter live show. The Buns of Butter Live Show is currently booking dates for 2003.

Each show opens with the Buns of Butter Theme Song, where dancers sing and "baton twirl" French bread. The dancers go on to perform a number of workouts. Before each routine, workout equipment is taken out of large coolers. For the Donut Spin, dancers spin donuts on sticks. In the Butter Butt Shake, dancers wear special butter holster belts that hold 5 pounds of butter. In the Butter Shake, dancers pour heavy cream into a jar and shake it up- making butter. For the Ice Cream Lift, dancers balance two large containers of ice cream on a pole- making an ice cream barbell. All of the routines have choreographed dance moves.

The Buns of Butter live show explores the relationship of food and exercise. The trends of fitness are also examined. Moves such as "kick your own butt," "Hawaii-five-o," and "frog jump," push the boundaries of movement and American aerobics. The show generates absurd images of food and power. The show is quick-paced and fun. Theme songs that Baumliér wrote and recorded are used in the workout routines.

Usually 6 routines are performed at the live show. For one or two of the routines, a volunteer from the audience is invited to try the routine. A recent addition to the show is a closing theme song about the history of butter that Kristen Baumliér sings - entitled Fifty Facts About Butter.

The Buns of Butter fitness program began in 1996 with the Buns of Butter exercise video. This video features 12 workouts, and has played in video festivals and on Public Access Television stations around the country. Buns of Butter has perfomed live at various venues including the Cleveland Center of Contemporary Art, the Performance Art Festival, the Iowa State Fair, and at Edinburg Castle in San Francisco, CA.
